Kitchen Converter: Weight, Volume, Temperature and Spice Spoons
A kitchen converter changes recipe measures from one unit to another. Choose weight, volume or temperature, enter a value and the tool gives the converted result. A spice converter turns grams into teaspoons and tablespoons using the weight of your own spice.
How to read your result
- Weight and volume: pick the units from the two lists and read the result.
- Temperature: switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Spice weight to spoons: weigh one level tablespoon of your own spice once, enter it with the grams in your recipe, and read the spoons.
- Spoon sizes: 1 teaspoon is 5 ml and 1 tablespoon is 15 ml. Some countries use slightly different spoons.

Frequently asked questions
Why does spice need its own weight?
Spices differ in density, grind and brand, so a tablespoon of one spice weighs more than a tablespoon of another. Weigh a level tablespoon of yours once and enter it.
Is a cup the same everywhere?
No. Cup sizes differ slightly between countries. Use weight where you can, because it is more exact than volume.
Does this cover local units such as the debe or sufuria?
Only the debe, at 20 litres, is included. Sufuria and gunia sizes vary, so measure your own with water and record the volume.
