Kitchen Management Tools: Free Calculators for Chefs and Kitchen Managers

These kitchen management tools turn the numbers in your kitchen into decisions. Each one is a free calculator in KSh that runs in your browser: cost a recipe, set a price, test a yield, plan prep, compare suppliers, check labour and see where your money goes.

They are built for restaurants, hotels, caterers and cafes across East Africa. Nothing you type is stored. Where a printed form or an Excel sheet helps, you will find the matching download on the tool page, and all of them are collected on the Kitchen Forms page.

How do the tools work together?

Start with the recipe. Cost each dish with the Recipe Cost Calculator, using your own yields from the Yield Test Calculator. Set the selling price with the Menu Price Calculator, then look at what sells with the Menu Engineering Tool.

Once the kitchen is running, compare your real usage with what your recipes say it should be, using Theoretical vs Actual Food Cost. Plan prep and labour to the forecast, and check the whole picture with the P&L Quick Check. When the numbers do not add up, the Food Cost Leak Self-Audit shows where to look first.

Every tool that has a matching printed form or Excel sheet links to it. See all of them on the Kitchen Forms page.
