Supplier Quote Comparator: Compare Suppliers on Cost per Usable Unit
A supplier quote comparator ranks quotes by the cost of what you can actually use, not the headline price. Enter each supplier’s price, pack size and usable yield and the tool shows cost per usable unit and how much extra the dearer quotes would cost you every month.
How to read your result
- Cost per usable unit: price divided by pack quantity times usable yield. Supplier A at KSh 100 a kilo with 100% yield costs KSh 100. Supplier B at KSh 90 a kilo with 80% yield costs KSh 112.50 per usable kilo.
- Lowest: the quote marked lowest has the lowest cost per usable unit.
- Extra cost per month: what each other quote would cost you, given the usable units you enter.
- Price is only one factor. Also weigh quality, delivery reliability and payment terms before you switch.

Frequently asked questions
How many suppliers should I ask?
At least three, for the same specification. Asking for the same pack size, grade and delivery terms makes the quotes comparable.
Do I need to enter a yield?
Only if the item has trimming loss. For items you use whole, leave it at 100%.
Is the cheapest supplier always the best?
No. Late deliveries, poor quality, short weights and tight payment terms can cost more than the price difference. Use the tool to compare cost, then judge the rest yourself.
